Learners’ Guide for Driving Published

The Ministry of Transport and Communications published a reference book, Learners’ Guide for Driving, in a bid to reduce road accidents through training competent and cautious drivers.

The book is mainly aimed at enabling learners of vehicle driving to have deep knowledge about traffic signs, and thereby avoid car accident which is entailing human losses and destruction of property.

The Land Transport Department called on drivers to play due role in preventing accidents through bringing about behavioral change. The newly published books would serve in enabling individuals who want to possess driving license to master vehicle driving.

Highlighting the paramount importance of safe driving and the upholding of traffic rules in preventing road accidents, the department urged driving schools to give instruction on the basis of the newly published reference book.

Learners’ Guide for Driving covers topics related to alertness and safety, vehicle handling, safety margins, hazard awareness, vulnerable road user, motorway rules, road regulations, road and traffic signs, accidents and vehicles, among others.
